SOLD at first kiss. Then came the magic number 18.

First date: May 18. 

Engaged: June 18

Married: September 18

41 years later in an intimate setting, I had a wedding photographer's dream come true as I had the distinct honor to witness and document Janet and Dave as they renewed their vows teary eyed and all, surrounded by close family and friends, unrehearsed promises straight from the heart committing to forever come what may. 

Dave found a good thing when he met Janet, thanks to her brother who set them up on a date. And Janet couldn't really say no. what woman could says no when your date showed up with his guitar ready to serenade you. (sorry iphone, ipod, android or playlist no room for you at this inn) it was all from the heart. 

Together forever is a family tradition with marriages lasting over 50 years. Over the years they've learned to lean on one another. They both have huge loving hearts, committed to a life of true love, a 2-way street paved with give and take and love of family.

Above all lots and lots of patience. 

As you can imagine it hasn't been a walk in the park. How could it? The one constant with Janet and Dave is the unshakable confidence that they have each other's back. That makes all the difference when life throws it's inevitable curve ball. Each one knows they can handle any storm because they have each other as best friends. 

Of course, I asked for the secret to their success, and here what they both said, Be truthful to one another, respect each others family, exercise lots and lots of patience and talk budget.
