YEAR 2015: AT THE CROSSROAD OF A NEW LEASE ON LIFE - PART II | RONNIE BLISS PHOTOGRAPHY | MARYLAND WEDDING PHOTOGRAHER

Welcome back! Today is the continuation of the first photography workshop I attended earlier this year. The Bayside Bride Workshop was wedding business strategies + styled shoots.

The business connections and personal friendships made at these local level are nothing short of incredible. Our Community over Competition has grown into The Rising Tide Society and a Tuesdays Together monthly networking sessions with a focus on both personal and small business growth. The uniqueness of Tuesdays Together is the bond of friendships that is nothing short of sisterhood. A community where collaboration is the norm. I can definitely say that I look forward to each networking session and the opportunity to support one of these wonderful ladies.

Enjoy the images from the wedding styled shoot.

Year 2015: AT THE CROSSROAD OF A NEW LEASE ON LIFE | RONNIE BLISS PHOTOGRAPHY | MARYLAND WEDDING PHOTOGRAHER

At the crossroad of life, I entered 2015 knowing it is a year of many changes in every area of my life. Simply put, crazy scary at the same time wildly exciting. Afterall it’s not every day you’re handed the opportunity to stand at a crossroad of a new lease on life. What to do! Take a left, a right or stay put? Decisions! Decisions!! Decisions!!! With this rare and exciting ‘opportunity’, I decided to immerse myself in some personal development, explore honing my photography skill by attending several workshops for different reasons. The Bayside Bride Workshop was the first, hosted by Natalie Franke and Krista Jones. It was wedding business strategies meet styled shoots. Not just one styled shoot but engagement + wedding. As if that was not enough, how about shooting digital or film? Fear not, my goal was personal development so I stayed digital.

On a personal level, I came away with tons of new ideas, skills were definitely honed, gained an entire community of friends and a movement called Community over Competition. A group of creatives, in the same relative creative space, who are genuinely rooting for your business to succeed. Wow!

Here are some images from the engagement session.

Ronnie Bliss Photography_0019.jpgDo something Good for someone Monday.

How was your weekend? Laid back? Exciting? Busy? Boring? Glad it's over? Whatever your individual response is, let’s see if we can do something good for someone else today. We truly do have the power to make a difference in other people’s lives, no matter how small it is.

If you are new here, this an action blog with a new activity each Monday. Simple tasks that can be accomplished within minutes, or before the day is over, the choice is always yours. The idea is to take the spotlight off yourself and make someone else’s day. Be a blessing. Simple!

Today’s task? Listen. Practice active listening.

How often do we ask that simple question how are you? how's it going? what's up? In whatever format the question is asked, do we really 'hear' the response? or the hidden meaning behind the canned 'I'm fine, thanks'. Today, why not take a moment to listen. Of course not to everyone, you would not get anything accomplished. But take one, maybe two people today and ask a follow-up, allow him/her to talk and practice active listening. Let’s make a difference today, you just might be that ray of sunshine in an otherwise cloudy day.

Do Something Good. Happy Monday!

Did you do it? Well? How’d it go? Tell us all about it in the comment section.

BROOKSIDE GARDENS | ENGAGEMENT | AYISATU + JAMES

Not even a rain soaked day could deter these lovebirds. What started as a couple of hours plan turned into a fun filled day that ended with a dinner date and impromptu jazz fest. Thank you Ayisatu and James for being such a wonderful couple to work with in every way. I can't wait for your wedding day.

THANK A SERVICE MAN OR WOMAN | RONNIE BLISS PHOTOGRAPHY | MARYLAND WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Ronnie Bliss Photography_0019.jpg Do something Good for someone Monday.

This past Friday we remembered. How could we forget? September 11 evokes so much memory. Most of us could describe exactly where we were and what we were doing when the news broke. In a matter of hours though, we came together as a nation, complete strangers defended our land, reached out to console, comfort and love each other in a bond of unity no one could have predicted.

Today’s task?

In honor of the men and women in uniform who serve our great nation, let us say a big 'Thank You' for your service wherever you see one today. They are everywhere, you cannot go through the day without seeing one. Not just the armed forces, let's include police officers and firefighters. If they serve and protect, they earned it. Simple enough but it goes a long way.

Do Something Good. For Someone else. Happy Monday!

Hand Written Note | Ronnie Bliss Photography | Maryland Wedding Photographer

Ronnie-Bliss-Photography_0019.jpg Do something Good for someone Monday.

Happy Labor Day, especially for those of us in the United States. And if you’re lucky enough, you’re either on vacation, you get to sleep in late, or it’s smooth sailing work. Whatever your situation is, let us take a moment to do something good for someone else today.

If you are new here, this is an action blog with a new activity each Monday. Simple tasks that can be accomplished within minutes, or before the day is over, the choice is always yours. The idea is to take the spotlight off yourself and make someone else’s day. Be a blessing. Simple!

Today’s task? Write a (handwritten) note and mail or deliver it.

What? Yes, a handwritten note, on a notecard, paper or napkin if you wish and mail (don’t forget the postage stamp) or hand deliver it. Anything but the use of technology.

Think about it, when was the last time you sent or received a handwritten note? I’m sure you can think of at least one deserving person to write.  Let’s do it.

Do Something Good. For Someone else. Happy Monday!

A Bottle of Watter

Ronnie Bliss Photography_0021.jpg Do something Good for someone Monday.

How was your weekend? Laid back? Exciting? Busy? Boring? Glad its over? Whatever your individual response is, let's see if we can do something good for someone else today. We truly do have the power to make a difference in other people's lives, no matter how small it is.

If you are new here, this an action blog with new activity each Monday. Simple tasks that can be accomplished within minutes, or before the day is over, the choice is always yours. The idea is to take the spotlight off yourself and make someone else’s day. Be a blessing. Simple!

Today’s task? Offer a bottle of water to someone today.

Ever wonder when service people have time to take a break? A simple thing like a bottle of water goes a long way. Especially when it is unexpected. Here's a short list of people we come in contact with everyday but often overlook: delivery guys such as FedEx, UPS, mail carriers front desk personnel security guards cleaning crew your assistants, co-workers the list goes on and on

A nice cold bottle of water has the power to refresh and to refuel, when it's unexpected, it has the power to make someone's day. What's the cost to you? $1.09. That's less than the cost of a donut or grande bold drip in my case. (coffee for those that does not speak starbucks). Let's make a difference today, offer a bottle of water to someone.

Do Something Good. Happy Monday!

a moment that makes a difference

Ronnie Bliss Photography_0021.jpg Another Do something Good for someone Monday.

Did you light up someone's world with your radiant smile last week? or perhaps all week long? I sure hope you did.

If you're new here, this an action blog with new activity each Monday. Simple tasks that can be accomplished within minutes, or before the day is over, the choice is always yours. The idea is to take the spotlight off yourself and make someone else’s day. Be a blessing. Simple!

So, on to today’s task: a moment that makes a difference by yielding to others. How? Driving? allow the other driver to get into your lane, it only takes a moment. In cashier lane? allow the customer with one or two items to go before you, or the parent with a restless kid, it only takes a moment. Getting on or out of the elevator? Hold the door, just a moment longer for others to get on or out, it only takes a moment. That awkward situation where you're about to collide with someone? You've got this, it only takes a moment.

Think about it for a moment ... that's all it takes ... a moment to a different. Happy Monday.

Did you do it? Well? How'd it go? Tell us all about it in the comment section.
